A City Where History Meets Modernity

Tianjin's rise is rooted in its ancient grain transport industry. Officially established on November 21 of the second year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty (December 23, 1404), it stands as China's only ancient city with a precisely recorded founding date. Over six centuries, Tianjin has cultivated a distinctive urban character, seamlessly integrating Chinese and Western styles with a harmonious blend of historical and contemporary elements.

A Thriving Port City

Situated at the confluence of the five major tributaries of the Haihe River on the North China Plain, Tianjin faces the Bohai Sea to the east and leans against Yanshan Mountains to the north. The Haihe River, known as Tianjin's "Mother River", flows through the heart of the city. The Binhai New Area has emerged as the "Third Growth Pole of China's Economy".
