Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) – Type B


Full Scholarship (Covers tuition, accommodation, and comprehensive insurance for international students in China, plus a living allowance of ¥3,000/month)

Enrollment Category: Full-time On-Campus Postgraduate Students (Master's Students)


Eligibility Requirements

Applicant Requirements: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, in good health, and demonstrate both academic excellence and good conduct.

Academic Requirements: Those applying for master's degree programs in China must hold a bachelor's degree and be under 35 years of age.

Language Requirements: Applicants for bachelor's degree programs must possess at least HSK Level 4 Chinese proficiency. Their Chinese language level must meet the entry requirements of their chosen major.

For applicants to Chinese-taught programs whose Chinese proficiency does not yet meet the requirements for specialized study, the Chinese Government Scholarship may provide 1-2 years of Chinese language study. Students may only begin their major studies after meeting the entry requirements; otherwise, they will no longer be eligible to continue their studies in China under the Chinese Government Scholarship.


Scholarship Benefits

1. Exemption from tuition fees and on-campus accommodation fees;

2. Provision of a living allowance (¥3,000/month for master's students);

3. The living allowance is disbursed monthly by the university. Scholarship students who register on or before the 15th of the month will receive the full monthly allowance; those who register after the 15th will receive half of the monthly allowance. For graduating students, the living allowance will be paid until half a month after the university-determined graduation date. If a scholarship student leaves China for personal reasons for more than 15 days during the study period (excluding normal holidays), the living allowance will be suspended for the duration of their absence.

4. Provision of comprehensive medical insurance for international students in China.

Application Procedure:

Step 1: Online Application

1. Apply online via the International Student Office website.

Log in to Tianjin University of Technology’s International Student Application System (https://tjut.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx) and complete the online form.

2. Apply via the Chinese Government Scholarship website

Log in to the Chinese Government Scholarship website at https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login to complete your registration. Use 10060 as the Tianjin University of Technology agency code and select Type B for the scholarship category.


Application Documents:

The required application materials shall be based on the specifications provided on the Chinese Government Scholarship website.

Special Notes:

● Faxed application materials will not be accepted.

● Incomplete or falsified application materials will not be accepted.

● There is no need to mail hard copies of the application documents. However, the university or the relevant school/department reserves the right to request the original documents or certified copies issued by designated authentication agencies for further verification.


Step 2: Track Your Application Status Online

You can check the progress and status of your application through your registered email or the Tianjin University of Technology International Student Application System.

Please make sure your email address is correct and check your inbox regularly to avoid missing important notifications (such as interview invitations, etc.).


Step 3: Admission and Enrollment

You can check your admission results through the Tianjin University of Technology International Student Application System or by visiting the announcement section of the International Student Office website. Admitted students must report to the university and complete registration strictly according to the date specified in the Admission Notice. At registration, original documents such as the diploma and degree certificate will be verified. Applicants who fail to obtain the required certificates will have their admission canceled.

Important Notes:

1. If any application materials are found to be falsified or not personally completed and submitted by the applicant, the application eligibility will be revoked immediately.

2. Scholarship recipients who are unable to register on time must inform the university in writing at least 15 days before the registration date, stating the reason. Those who fail to report without a valid reason will have their scholarship qualification canceled.

3. Students who fail the entrance medical examination, withdraw, or suspend their studies will have their scholarship eligibility revoked.
