    On January 18, which coincides with the traditional Chinese Laba Festival, international students of Tianjin University of Technology (TUT) joined university leaders, heads of functional departments and schools, and faculty members in the halal restaurant to celebrate the upcoming Spring Festival and experience the charm of Chinese traditional culture.

    The event was filled with warmth and festivity, brimming with a rich holiday atmosphere. Teachers and students came together to make dumplings and Laba garlic, savor Laba porridge, and immerse themselves in traditional festival customs and the authentic flavors of the Chinese New Year.

    At the event, Liu Dongzhi, Party Secretary of TUT, delivered an address. He extended the university's New Year greetings and blessings to all teachers and students, and commended the remarkable achievements of international students. He stressed that TUT has always adhered to the concept that "each civilization should uphold its own beauty, recognize others' beauty, and achieve global harmony through mutual appreciation" in recruiting and training international students. Cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries are crucial for promoting world peace and development. He hoped students will cherish their learning experiences in China, act as cross-cultural ambassadors, and contribute to Sino-foreign friendly exchanges and common development.

    Chinese and international students delivered wonderful performances, including the songs Bound by Love and You Look Lovely When You Smile, as well as the crosstalk Linglong Tower. The event also included a lucky draw, offering everyone a unique experience of cultural integration and cross-cultural communication in the festive atmosphere.

    At the event's close, university leaders presented students with New Year gift packages, wishing them a cozy festival in China and new academic breakthroughs in the coming year.
