On the night of May 29, the "Beautiful China +" Cultural Series - "Boats Connect Cultures, Zongzi Brings Joy" Dragon Boat Festival Garden Party took place at Tianjin University of Technology (TUT). Hosted by the Entry-Exit Administration of the Tianjin Municipal Public Security Bureau and TUT, it saw numerous international students immerse themselves in the unique charm of the Chinese traditional Dragon Boat Festival.

The event was a lively celebration filled with festive joy. It featured several traditional festival zones, such as "Dragon Boat Festival Treats", "Zongzi Crafting", "Mugwort Sachet Making", and "Vermillion Dotting", where the students experienced the rich culture of the Dragon Boat Festival. In the zongzi making zone, ingredients like glutinous rice, bamboo leaves, and red dates were neatly laid out. The Chinese and international students gathered around, learning and laughing as they made zongzi. With staff guiding them patiently, the international students folded leaves, filled them with rice, wrapped, and tied. Though they were a bit clumsy, they were full of enthusiasm. When the zongzi of different shapes took form in their hands, everyone beamed with joy.

The "Shooting the 'Five Poisons'" area was a big hit. Students stood at a set distance, focused intently, and shot arrows at the targets. Each hit was greeted with cheers and applause from fellow students. This traditional game tested their focus and skill while giving them a taste of how ancient scholars and gentlemen used to have fun.
In the sachet making area, colorful threads, spices, and various fabrics drew flocks of students. They picked out materials they liked and sewed sachets with care. These sachets, with their gentle fragrance, were not only useful for repelling mosquitoes but also carried good wishes. Many students planned to present the sachets they made as gifts to friends, sharing the warmth of the festival.
Moreover, the event offered a variety of impressive programs. In segments like choral performances, traditional Chinese music performances, and Hanfu shows, the Chinese and international students created a favorable atmosphere of "beauty in diversity, beauty in harmony", pushing the event to a climax.

The "Beautiful China +" Dragon Boat Festival Garden Party created a platform for Chinese and international students to interact. It offered international students a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture and increased their knowledge and love for China. Meanwhile, it helped Chinese students build stronger cultural confidence through communication with international friends and encouraged the blending of different cultures.
This event is a key part of the "Beautiful China +" cultural series initiated by the Entry-Exit Administration of the Tianjin Municipal Public Security Bureau. This initiative, covering themes like legal education, cultural experience, and immigrant integration service, seeks to enhance the cultural experience of foreign residents in Tianjin and foster cultural exchanges. Next, the administration will collaborate with universities to create platforms that drive Tianjin's international development with sustained new energy.
This event was organized by the International Student Office, and co-organized by the Logistics Management Office, the Youth League Committee, the Library, the School of Continuing Education, the School of Language and Culture, and the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
